Volunteer Opportunities

Whatever time you have to offer, BGC Charlottetown has an option to fit your schedule and availability. With multiple programs and events to choose from there are many engaging ways to become involved. BGC Charlottetown has been an organization central to the community for over 30 years, a feat that would not have been possible without the dedicated work of our amazing volunteers. To us, our volunteers are every bit as important as any club member or staff, and we cannot thank them enough.

BGCC offers exciting chances to learn new skills, meet new people, all while working together to achieve something meaningful. We believe everyone has something to offer our programs, while developing their own unique abilities, and is it the contributions of our volunteers that make our programs so special. For youth looking to gain valuable experience and useful knowledge, volunteering with the BGCC is a great place to start.

We are currently looking for Mentors to provide tutoring. If you would like to connect with youth and help contribute to youth success in school then we would love to hear from you!

We have a variety of ways to be involved;

• Tutoring
• Board of Directors
• Out of School Care

Our Volunteer Mentorship Program-offers experiential learning for volunteers, especially those enrolled or planning to enroll in post-secondary studies relating to the fields of Youth and Child Care, Human Services, Education, Guidance Counselling and Social Work.

We regularly engage in partnership with Holland College, University of Prince Edward Island and High Schools to facilitate volunteer opportunities that are relevant to student career goals. We are always looking for independent, outgoing, and caring individuals who wish to volunteer their time with children and youth. Our volunteers enrich our programs with the special qualities and unique skills that they bring to our After School Program.

After-School Care Expectations

Volunteers are here to have fun! Enjoy taking part in the structured activities we have planned each day or just hang out in our free play areas and get to know our members. Do a craft, read a book, make a Lego creation or play catch in the gym. Whether you are here looking to increase your skills, gain experience, earn volunteer service hours, or discover a potential career path, all are welcome to get involved.
